I’m a big fan of minimal design, so I’m designing a new wordpress theme that will be great for anyone that likes minimal design as much as I do. Part of a minimal design is trying to figure out what really needs to be there in the design. What do you leave in? There should be a good reason for everything that’s in the design, otherwise, it’s not minimal.
My thoughts on this design: I wanted the headline to be the main draw to the site. I created the headline to be the largest design element of the theme in order to draw viewers into the discussion of the blog. Secondly, I wanted to make the side bar elements, like the recent posts and recent comments links, a secondary aspect to the site. I wanted the words of the post to be the most prominent part to the whole design.
I’m about 90% done with the design, then I’ll have it coded and ready for download.
